    "content": " Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity. The reason as to why we have committees and chairs of committees is because we stand guided by them. I have just heard the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Administration and Internal Security, Hon. Tongoyo, tell us that both Houses are actually supposed to vet and oversee the Inspector-General. If we have already set a precedent on which House should oversee the Inspector- General, we would be making a mistake to change that precedent. We have to be a House of law. A precedent has been set. So, if the precedent is that the Senate and the National Assembly have been vetting and oversighting the Inspector-General and we want to change that precedent, we will not be a serious House of law-making. Law making is about precedent. In such a situation, then we will need to basically go to the Judiciary. We cannot be the people that actually oversee ourselves. Thank you."
