Doris to know I was here as early as 9.30 a.m. First, I support this very important Motion on the Policy for the Provision of Mental Health Services in all healthcare facilities. This country is at crossroads. We have a very good Kenya Mental Health Policy 2015- 2030, which established a framework for improved mental healthcare. However, translating those goals into tangible action requires a facility level policy. I want to underscore the fact that mental health is a subject that is always being shunned by most people, especially mental health patients. I am saying this because for a long time, since the formulation of this policy in 2015, which is one of the best in the world, very little has been done towards actualising it.
