When sugarcane farming was introduced in Mumias where I come from - and I am a product of sugarcane farming - by the then Government and Booker Tate, who was the investor then, the first thing they did was to register all the farmers who had land and went ahead to give them inputs. This was to enable the farmer to produce sugarcane."
