    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.56(1)(a) of the Senate Standing Orders to make a Statement regarding the Standing Committee on Finance and Budget consideration of the Speaker's Communication on the report of the Senate nominee, on behalf of the county governments, to the position of member of the Salaries and Renumeration Commission (SRC). Mr. Speaker Sir, vide letter Ref:EOP/CAB.26/4A/VOL.III/(175) dated 23rd May 2024, the Office of the Clerk received notification from the Head of the Public Service indicating that the tenure of six members of the Commission would be lapsing on 10th September, 2024. Consequently, under Article 230(2)(b)(vii) of the Constitution, the Senate is required to nominate a member of SRC on behalf of county governments.
