"content": " Thank you very much, Hon. Speaker. It gives me great pleasure to stand on behalf of the University of Nairobi class of 1990 to support the nomination of Dorcas Oduor as the Attorney-General of the Republic of Kenya. The class of 1990 is the most consequential in the history of the University of Nairobi. We have produced a President and many other leaders in the country. We are now producing the first female Attorney-General of the Republic of Kenya. I joined the Office of the Attorney-General of the Republic of Kenya with Dorcas Oduor and worked closely together for many years. I have complete confidence in her ability to discharge the duties of that office. I am also very happy to reinforce what Hon. K’Oyoo said, that Dorcas has waited for a very long time for this opportunity. If it had not been for negative politics, she would have been our first Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) under the 2010 Constitution. Most recently, I have been working with Dorcas on establishing a framework for criminal investigation law that we do not have in this country to help fight corruption. Hopefully, very soon – I sent a request The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
