"content": " Thank you for the opportunity. This Report by Hon. Tindi Mwale is extensive and elaborate. It has also been properly seconded. I am a bit disappointed that this is coming now. There is a lot of eagerness to have jobs done and I expected to see more than two applicants. We have too many auditors in the country. Out of the two applicants, only one was selected and there is much more than meets the eye. For us, value for money is key, and we need to know how the money the Auditor- General is overseeing is being used. We have witnessed misuse of funds that are allocated to SAGAs. Why is it that only two companies applied for this tender? There are many questions regarding the qualifications of the selected firm. Is it worth spending money on this external auditor? As it is, the Office of the Auditor-General should have an internal audit department. I do not know whether this office exists yet. The Committee should look into this so that if there is none, we can create one. I expected more than 10 companies to participate in this tender.
