    "content": "Alarmingly, the Democratic Republic of Congo has reported nearly thousands of infections and even deaths related to Mpox in the recent past. However, there has not been ample response by the Ministry to that potential health crisis. Given the serious nature of that health threat, it is imperative that we discuss the situation urgently. It is against this background that I request for a statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Health on the following: 1. A report on the Mpox case detected in Kenya, including when it was identified and how many more cases have since been detected. 2. The specific measures being implemented on detection and plans to prevent the spread of Mpox. 3. Reports on assessment of the nation's preparedness to handle a potential Mpox outbreak, including current state of our health care facilities, availability of medical supplies, including vaccines and health care workers.
