Senators, Section 12(1) of the Competition Act provides for the position of the Director-General of the Competition Authority, who shall be appointed by the Authority with the approval of Parliament. I am making this Communication pursuant to today's Order Paper on the Order of Communication. Vide a letter Reference No.TNT, Conference/268/001C(78) dated 6th August, 2024, the office of the Clerk received a communication from His Excellency Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, EGH, the then Acting Cabinet Secretary of the National Treasury and Economic Planning, on the nominee for appointment to the position of the Director- General of the Competition Authority of Kenya.
