    "content": "In this case, there was a fund agency that did not avail any chance to the interns, even though there were some who were not from Tana River County. However, because of the convenience of deploying people to areas that make sense to them, unfortunately, none was deployed to the Hola Huduma Kenya Centre. It is a matter that I will take up with the PSC, so that in the near future, because they are doing some more internship programme, we can get some people trained or attached to this particular centre, in view of the critical role that it plays. Sen. Mungatana raised issues regarding the distance citizens from Tana River and Hola, in particular, have to travel to obtain Government services in other places far away from Tana River County. As I conclude, I want to assure Sen. Mungatana that we, as a Ministry, through various interventions, like the letters written by the Prime Cabinet Secretary and the intervention by the Head of the Public Service, intend to ensure that many Government agencies deploy personnel or train personnel to offer some of the front-end services that many of these departments and agencies offer. This is so that we do not get this kind of situation where people in Hola struggle and travel long distances to get services from Government agencies like the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA). I am aware that they have to travel very far because there is no Huduma Centre, even in Malindi. This month, the Member of Parliament for Malindi approached me about assisting her in setting up a Huduma Centre in Malindi. I can appreciate the distances that the people of Tana River have to travel to get these kinds of services. Huduma Kenya Services was established way back in 2013 and implemented in 2014 to try and bring some of the Government services closer to the people. For that reason, so many services are being offered on the e-Citizen platform and digitally through other forms. It is unfair that we can have a situation in which the people of Tana River cannot benefit from such government services. Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir."
