"content": "Machakos agreed on an action plan. We look forward to implementing that action plan to promote Machakos County tourism. In terms of the questions on human-wildlife conflict, for Oldonyo-Sabuk fencing, funds are available. They were sourced successfully and there is a tendering process in place. The Masinga ecosystem is managed under the Ministry of Energy and not under the State Department for Wildlife. On the question by Sen. Mumma. I wish to confirm that we have an intergovernmental sectoral committee under the Ministry and CoG. The Governor for Narok is the current chair. We participate actively and attend regular meetings. A number of MOUs have been put in place, including with Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) for the management of game reserves and with counties, with some of the counties in regard to tourism. Tourism week is ongoing; the culmination will be held in Kisumu County on Friday. We are launching and unveiling the western circuit, covering all the western counties. I believe a lot of activity is going on. We will continue focusing on other areas apart from the traditional areas because to grow our tourism, we need to diversify the products and areas that the country has so that we can have sustainable tourism. The final question on Lake Olbolosat is whether the process of gazetting it as a national reserve is ongoing under the county government. Kenya Wildlife Service is assisting in developing a management plan to ensure good management and promote tourism. We are working together with other sectoral players and stakeholders, including Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry, National Environment Management Authority of Kenya (NEMA), other stakeholders, to ensure the sustainability of that precious lake, which will also go a long way towards promoting tourism and other socio-economic activities. Thank you."
