I rise Pursuant to Standing Order No.53 (1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on health regarding the medical negligence at Vihiga County Referral Hospital. In the statement, the committee should: (1) Outline the medical safety procedures implemented before, during and after surgical procedures at this hospital. (2) Clarify the circumstances that led to a surgical scissor, being left in the abdomen of Mrs. Dephina Lihuechi Salago, during her abdominal surgery at Vihiga County Referral Hospital.
