    "content": "The industrial action by both the Universities Academic Staff Union (UASU) and the Kenya Universities Staff Union (KUSU) has paralysed learning in the affected institutions, disadvantaging learners and fueling a crisis in the education sector in general. In the Statement, the Committee should- (1) Write the nature and particulars of the grievances raised by the striking academic and non-academic staff members in public universities and provide details of the form and extent of intervention the Government has made to address them. (2) Explain any measures the Ministry and the universities have taken to ensure a conclusive resolution of recurrent industrial disputes to avert similar occurrences in the future."
