"content": " Thank you very much, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I come from the Office of the Prime Minister and, indeed, the issue of Mau Forest has been very controversial. I assure the House that the Prime Minister has given it a lot of attention. Indeed a task force has been in place looking at many possibilities, including the possibility of removing people from the Mau Forest in order to conserve it and at the same time compensate them. I would like to inform the House that as we speak now, the Report is ready. It has been sent to the Cabinet. I am sure that in a short while, the Cabinet will be looking at it in order to come up with the way forward. However, for purposes of making this matter move fast, I support the Motion. The issue here is not about today. The issue of Mau Forest is about tomorrow. I have had the benefit of looking at the photographs of Mau Forest in the 1950s up to today. When you look at the photograph of Mau Forest today, it is a very sad case. The Mau Forest now looks like a bald head. Outside, you will see a few trees, but if you fly over it, you will see the destruction that has already been done and continues to be done. When I was listening to contributions here, there were indications from some hon. Members that they will resist the eviction. I think there should be no issue of resisting the"
