The approved capitation rates to be provided by the Government for primary education is Kshs1,420 per learner per year, Junior Secondary School (JSS) is Kshs15,042 per learner per year and secondary schools is Kshs22,244 per learner per year. Mr. Speaker, Sir, the disbursement to schools are aligned to the financial year, with the academic years falling in between two financial years. Thus, for example, the academic year 2023 fell within the Financial Year 2022/2023 and 2023/2024.
