"content": " Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The matter of classification of hardship areas is currently being handled by a technical team appointed by the Ministry of Public Service and Human Capital Development. The TSC has made submissions to that team to ensure that there are areas that are treated like Sen. Wambua said by one department or one side of the Government, as hardship is treated the same way across the board. So, I could not agree with him more. We need to take that multi-agency approach so that we have a harmonised system for knowing and confirming that if an area is a hardship area for the Ministry of Interior and National Administration of National Government, for example, it should be a hardship area for the Ministry of Education or the TSC. So, we thank you for those suggestions. We will ride on them and make the relevant submissions to the technical team. We will also look at the circular that was issued in 1997, many years ago. The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only.A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Director, Hansard and Audio Services,Senate."
