"content": " Thank you very much, Hon. Deputy Speaker. From the Statement given by the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration, it is clear that abduction of citizens by authorities linked to the Government is not within the policy of the Kenyan Government. This is because we believe in the rule of law. Our country is governed by the rule of law. The Cabinet Secretary has clearly said that that cannot be a Government policy. Secondly, with regard to those individuals who are reported missing, it is clear that one must report their abduction to the nearest police station so that there is a Government record. Thirdly, the Committee yesterday met with the Independent Policing Oversight Authority and the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights to address the same issues of abductions and missing persons. We will be meeting with the National Police Service tomorrow to highlight the same cases and what the National Police Service should do if, indeed, they are involved."
