"content": "archaic because of new and emerging technologies, yet those things were the basis for emerging technologies. So, I thank my brother for this noble idea. I hope that we allocate resources to it. I also wanted us to include indigenous knowledge in the science museum, not just technology. There is a lot of indigenous knowledge. For instance, I mentioned the beneficial properties of plant genetic resources. My grandfather knew almost every cure for snake bites, but now if I ask people at home, nobody knows because that knowledge was not preserved. There was no way of preserving that kind of knowledge. There are many snakes in our rural home. Their numbers have reduced because of increased settlements. Because of the large number of snakes, our grandfathers observed the way they attacked their prey. They realised that they could use some plants to cure snake bites. They became experts. Who knows about that anymore? Nobody. There are herbal medicines for curing cancer, yet we have people struggling it."
