"content": " Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. Pursuant to the provisions of Standing Order 44(2)(C), I rise to request a statement from the Chairperson, Departmental Committee on Administration and Internal Affairs regarding the death of Mr Willis Ayieko Onyango of ID Number 11438772. On 23rd October 2024, the body of Mr Willis Ayieko was found at Mungowere Stream in Yala, Siaya County, having been brutally murdered under unclear circumstances. At the time of his death, Mr Ayieko was a senior executive at Wells Fargo Limited, serving as the Director of Human Resources, where his role included overseeing investigations of high-profile cases involving loss of colossal amounts of money and undertaking administrative actions against senior staff who are found responsible for the disappearance of such funds. It is alleged that the roles he played in his work may have significantly contributed to the circumstances leading to his death, which investigations are yet to be concluded. It is imperative that justice is served swiftly and transparently, as the family and friends are greatly burdened by the unresolved circumstances that are surrounding his tragic demise, thus exacerbating their grief. It is against this background that I request for a statement from the Chairperson, Departmental Committee on Administration and Internal Affairs on the following: 1. A report on the circumstances that led to the death of Mr Willis Ayieko, whose body was found at Mungowere Stream in Yala, Siaya County. 2. Measures that have been put in place by the Ministry of Interior and National Administration to ensure that the family of the deceased gets justice following the murder of their kin. 3. Timelines in which investigations will be undertaken and when the findings will be made public to provide clarity and closure to the family. I thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker."
