"content": "About 80 per cent of the landmass of this country is in the arid areas, but we have continued to concentrate agriculture only in the wetlands. I also refuse the notion that terms Nyeri, Nyahururu, Meru, Bomet and Murang’a as arid or semi-arid lands. So, I am totally dissatisfied with the answer that has been provided by the Ministry. They have just enumerated projects here, including 11 irrigation schemes, 19 micro-irrigation schemes, 48 pans and earth dams, 49 boreholes, and so many others. They are not saying where exactly those projects have been initiated."
