"content": "Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, also, it is important to note that the Committee, in its deliberations, did find it actually possible that most or all councils in the Republic of Kenya are employing casual workers for as long as 14 years. They still refer to them as casual workers. You will see this has been going on for many years. Many workers whose services were terminated lost their jobs because they were casual labourers in spite of working for many years. They lost their families because if one was a breadwinner in a family and your services are terminated in that nature, then you go home and you have nothing to give to your family. This means that you have lost your family. If you are the provider of the family and you are a man, your wife might even disappear because you are not providing. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, many children of these families dropped out of school because the employment of their parents was terminated. So, they have suffered over these years. It is important that they be paid. The Chair has referred to a matter that was brought to court under Case No. L57 of 2011. It is important to note that this case was taken to court long after I had asked the Question. So, it is because of the Question in Parliament that these people were taken to court---"
