"content": "THAT, aware that, according to the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation, an estimated 18,000 Kenyans die annually due to various cancers and a further 82,000 new cases are reported every year; further aware that most cancer cases are treatable when diagnosed early and advanced technology and facilities used; concerned that Kenya has no national policy on cancer, cancer control law and national cancer strategy; noting that being diagnosed with cancer for majority of Kenyans is equivalent to receiving a death sentence owing to the scarcity of facilities for proper treatment and the prohibitive costs involved, this House resolves that the Government makes cancer treatment free for all Kenyans citizens."
