I would like to bring to the attention of the Cabinet Secretary that, as the law stands, now with respect to the Commission for University Education (CUE), the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) does not monitor the training of medical and dental students. That work is left to CUE, but I am not too sure whether it has the capacity. How, then, can they pick out the problems in advance, as raised by Hon. Mathenge, if KMPDC is not doing what was there formerly before the University Act came into being? That was the practice!"
