"content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, it is true that we have a problem in appointing the Board. However, I think this problem is more than appointing the Board. This is because we are talking about an acute water problem that can be fixed by pumping in over Kshs50 billion. To show the hon. Member how seriously we have taken this issue, we have already taken up the rehabilitation of Mzima Water Project at a cost of Kshs3.1 billion. Everything is ready. The project appraisal has been completed and the bankâs board approval of funding has already been done. The project is supposed to be effected in the next three years. At the same time, we are negotiating with other donors so that we can, at least, get Kshs40 billion to make sure that over 160 million cubic metres of water are received everyday by the people of Mombasa. This will cut across the whole of Coast Province. I can discuss the issue of the Board with Mr. Joho. Even the political leadership at the Coast is a problem. This problem will be sorted out. However, I wish the hon. Member could concentrate on the Kshs40 billion which will serve the whole of Coast Province."
