(1) A person qualifies to be appointed as the Chairperson of the Board if that person— (a) holds a degree from a university recognized in Kenya; (b) has at least five years’ experience in matters relating to transport; (c) has resided in the county for a period of not less than five years.; and (d) meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution (2) A person qualifies to be appointed as a member of the Board, if the person— (a) meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution; (b) has not been convicted of a criminal offence which attracts imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months; (c) has not been adjudged bankrupt or entered into a composition or arrangement with the creditors of the person; (d) is not disqualified under any other written law from appointment as such; and (e) in the case of a member under paragraph (f) has at least a post-secondary education qualification; (f) in the case of a member under paragraph (g) has at least a secondary school qualification."
