Speaker, it is against this background that I request for a statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Blue Economy, Water and Irrigation on the following: 1. A report on the status of implementation of the Mavoko Drinking Water Supply Project, that is jointly funded by the Kenyan and Belgian governments; 2. A report on the steps being taken by the Ministry to ensure the completion of the project and the expected timelines for its completion; and, 3. The interim measures that are being taken by the Ministry to address the water scarcity faced by the residents and to protect them from unscrupulous water vendors. I thank you, Hon. Speaker."
