    "content": "Hon. Speaker, Sir, I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.53(1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Education regarding the mismanagement of the University of Nairobi. In the Statement, the Committee should- (1) Investigate allegations that the University of Nairobi Council Chairman has taken over the role of the Vice-Chancellor in the daily running of the university affairs, and is continuously engaged in unlawful practices, including misuse of university resources, irregular recruitment, and promotion of administrative staff, arbitrary transfer of staff, unprocedural placing of staff on compulsory leave, scrapping of lawful positions, and creation of non-existent positions, and development of a human resource manual The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
