"content": " Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I have ten minutes remaining. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Economic Survey-2009 outlines that we are not in a good position with regards to the energy sector. It is true that Kenya is deficient in energy. The electricity that is produced is not enough. It is too little for this country. That is why many parts of the country are in darkness. There are several other sources of energy which we are not tapping. We are not adequately tapping solar energy in this country. If enough money was available, all our schools would be having lights tapped from solar energy. All other facilities, including medical facilities in this country could have lights if we put a few other resources into tapping solar energy. A lot of wind energy is also going to waste in this country. If you go to Netherlands, Belgium and parts of Germany, you will see that they produce a lot of energy from wind. Why can we not think of those other sources of energy?"
