Initially, the income of the wife was deemed to be that of the husband and that of the wife was assessed to the husband. The Income Tax Act also recognises wife as a person who pays income or assessed on her own. In this case, what is the difference between a spouse and a wife? Personally, I have four wives. In any case, that was the term that was previously used."
