"content": " Hon. Temporary Chairman, I share the views and sentiments of Hon. Muriu. Unfortunately, this matter has been a subject of a court battle for five years. On 5th February 2019, the Court of Appeal gave a ruling on the definition of the word ‘paid’. The court ruling defined the word to be applicable only upon the actual delivery of money. The Court of Appeal overturned the precedent clarifying the term ‘paid’ as defined in the Income Tax Act encompasses not only actually payment but also amounts distributed, credited, dealt with or deemed to have been paid in the interest or on behalf of the person.
