The Assistant Minister is a very good friend of this House and given the fact that he has demonstrated willingness to co-operate with the House, we plead with the Chair to defer this Ministerial Statement to the afternoon when the hon. Member will be present? I plead with the Chair to consider this, given the fact that there are many times when Ministers commit themselves to this House and they come to plead for more time, and we have been generous to give them that extension. This includes my Statement today."
