    "content": "There is another Message from the National Assembly; the Passing by the National Assembly Bill of the Co-operatives Bill (National Assembly Bills No.7 of 2024). Hon. Senators, I wish to report to the Senate that pursuant to Standing Order No.46(3), I received the following Message from the Speaker of the National Assembly regarding the passage by the National Assembly of the Cooperatives Bill (National Assembly, Bills No.7 of 2024). The Message dated 16th January, 2025 was received in the Office of the Clerk of the Senate on the same date the Senate went on recess. It was subsequently circulated to Senators via letter 17th January, 2025. Pursuant to Standing Order No.46 (5), I now report the Message. Pursuant to the provisions of Standing Order No.41(1) and 142 of the National Assembly Standing Orders, I hereby convey the following Message from the National Assembly; WHEREAS the Cooperatives Bill (National Assembly Bills No.7 of 2024) was published via the Kenya Gazette Supplement No.32 of 9th February 2024, providing for the establishment of the office of the Commissioner for Cooperative Development at the national level of government and the Office of the County Director for Cooperatives in each county government and to provide for the promotion, registration and regulation of cooperatives to provide for intergovernmental cooperative relations and for connected purposes; AND WHEREAS the National Assembly considered the said Bill and passed it on 3rd December 2024 with amendments in the form attached hereto; The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
