    "content": "Thank you, Madam Temporary Speaker. I also join my colleagues to support this Bill. I also thank the Mover of the Bill because it is the right time we took concern of our environment and the afforestation of our land. In this country, desertification is encroaching our lands quickly, especially in the northern part of Kenya and even in the Mount Kenya area because of deforestation. Indigenous trees are disappearing. As a result, land is left bare and this has made rainfall become unpredictable. Sometimes, we do not get enough rainfall because of deforestation. This Bill gives concern to afforestation programmes, which have been there for years, but lately, this was left out. Initially, this was driven by donors, but it is time we got budgetary allocations for these programmes of afforestation.
