    "content": "Hon. Members, I wish to report to the House the demise of Mzee Kingi Mwaruwa, the beloved father to my esteemed colleague, the Rt. Hon. Amason Jeffah Kingi, EGH, Speaker of the Senate. It occurred on Sunday, 9th February 2025, while he was undergoing treatment at Pandya Memorial Hospital in Mombasa. Mzee Kingi was a pillar of wisdom, compassion, and unwavering resolve. As a father, he embodied strength and guidance, not only to his family but also to the community at large. His steadfast commitment to instilling values of service, humility and integrity made him a source of inspiration to all. Beyond his humility, leadership, and support for his family and society, Mzee Kingi leaves behind a rich legacy that will live on in his children, as is evident by the service of the Rt. Hon. Speaker Kingi. Having recently walked a similar path of grief following the loss of my mother in December last year, I deeply empathise with the Speaker and his family at this difficult moment. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, 20th February 2025, at 9.00 a.m. at his homestead in Kamale Village, Kilifi County. The funeral service will be held on Friday, 21st February 2025, at Kamale Primary School grounds, with the final rites taking place at his home. I urge all of us to stand in solidarity with the Rt. Hon. Amason Kingi and his family during this time of grief. This is a profound loss; our thoughts and prayers are with the Speaker of the Senate, the Rt. Hon. Amason Kingi and his family. On behalf of the National Assembly and the Parliamentary Service Commission, and, indeed, on my behalf, I pay tribute to Mzee Kingi Mwaruwa and convey our heartfelt condolences to the Rt. Hon. Speaker and the entire family. May the strength he embodied and the values he upheld in life remain a source of comfort during this time of sorrow. May the soul of Mzee Kingi Mwaruwa rest in eternal peace. I request we stand for a moment of silence in honour of Mzee ."
