"content": "I can tell you for a fact that when I go outside, I wear this band on my head. In Kenya, people just say I like it because it is an insignia. It shows whom I am and in many communities in Kenya, we have it. Only that I have modernised mine. In the Luo culture, if you see me doing the beaded one, it is called ligisa . This is worn by women in leadership. So, if you see me wearing it, in my culture, it shows that I am a woman leader. Since we do not take it seriously, when people see me, they think it is a fashion statement. Yes, it is fashionable, but also cultural. It is not just worn by the Luo community, but by very many communities. We also need to see how we can link culture with tourism."
