For us to pull in one direction, we must, first of all, have to deal with the fault lines. We have to deal with things that divide us, and find an over-arching culture and shared values that bring us together as a people. Upon that, the beauty is that we always have a chance. As a country and continent, we have a chance so that we can define ourselves through an over-arching identity, and an identity that is not static, but one which is fluid."
