"content": "Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity. Hon. Barasa, welcome to the Senate. We have been longing to ask you a number of questions and I am glad you have managed to come. My questions are as follows- (1) Could the Cabinet Secretary provide details on the availability and affordability of life-supporting prescription drugs for persons with disabilities living with seizure-related ailments such as epilepsy? (2) Which pharmaceutical manufacturers, suppliers and distributors are collaborating with the Ministry of Health and the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) to ensure the availability of these medicines and what are the terms of their operation? (3) What steps has the Ministry taken to ensure that these life-saving drugs are included in the essential drugs list and made readily available under the existing public national health insurance scheme?"
