"content": " Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Speaker. I also want to applaud Hon. Wamaua for this very progressive Bill. We frequently deal with education matters at the constituency level. My main concern is with the title of the Bill; it is called the \"Basic Education (Amendment) Bill.\" However, I believe the sub-county education boards should be responsible for overseeing basic, higher, and even (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) TVET institutions. We need to rephrase this title so it encompasses all levels of education. In section 18 (g), the proposal mentions that the Board can co-opt additional members. My question is: Who will pay for this? Otherwise, everything concerning the equity of teachers has been said. The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
