Senators, pursuant to Standing Order No. (232) 1(b), I hereby present a Petition that has been submitted through the Clerk of the Senate by Mr. Francis Otieno, a resident of Pap Oriang Sub Location, Siaya County, concerning compensation for sugar cane crop damaged by the Department of Public Works, Roads, Energy and Transport. As you are aware, under Article 119 (1) of the Constitution of Kenya, 210- “Every person has a right to petition Parliament to consider any matter within its authority including to enact, amend or review any legislation.” The salient issues raised in the said Petition are as follows- The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Director, Hansard and AudioServices, Senate."
