"content": "I rise pursuant to Standing Order No. 53(1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Energy regarding the alternative revenue streams for the Kenya Power company. In the Statement, the Committee should- (1) Provide an annual breakdown of the revenue earned by the Kenya Power company from hosting optic fibre cables on their electricity poles from the financial years 2021/2022 to date. (2) Disclose all other alternative revenue streams that Kenya Power is currently exploring to diversify its income. (3) Explain strategies being implemented by Kenya Power to address the persistent issue of poor revenue collection."
