"content": "On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I rise to demand a Ministerial Statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. There have been reports in the public domain attributed to the Ambassador of the United States of America (USA) stationed in Kenya to the effect that the USA President will be visiting Africa in July, and that in his visit he will not visit our country, Kenya. I would like the Minister for Foreign Affairs to clarify the following: (a) the reasons as to why the USA President, whose late father was of Kenyan origin, and who, indeed, has been celebrated as one of their own by Kenyans despite his American citizenship â is not coming to Kenya; (b) whether the corruption allegations bedeviling this Government and the lack of reform could be the reason for the rebuff that we have suffered; (c) whether he is aware that this snub has further battered the international image that Kenya is already suffering in terms of its reputation, and what the Foreign Affairs Minister is doing to correct that image."
