I am grateful for the opportunity to appear before the Senate, conscious of your critical role in our nation’s governance, ensuring accountability and representing the interests of the Kenyan people. My aim today is to provide you with a comprehensive response to your questions to achieve the best possible outcome for our country. I was invited here to address two Questions. The first has been asked by the Senator of Meru county. My response is as follows- (a) Regarding reasons for the delay in implementation of the Senate resolution and the task force recommendations, the delay has been primarily due to legal constraints. The Attorney-General who is the official Government advisor on legal matters in a legal opinion dated 8th, May, 2023, advised that there was no legal basis to The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Director, Hansard and AudioServices, Senate."
