I would like to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development the following Question- (a) Could the Cabinet Secretary explain the current position of the Government on the export of macadamia nuts, that is, in-shell, from the country? (b) Are there plans to lift the ban on the export of raw macadamia nuts, that is, in- shell, to ensure farmers get competitive prices for the produce from local processors and licenced exporters? (c) What strategies is the Government implementing to build the capacity of local processors for macadamia for enhanced value addition to maximise the benefits to farmers and the overall economy?"
