    "content": "forgotten. I know of so many heroes, for example, from my county who participated in world wars and also in fighting the colonialists. However, they are not documented anywhere. Every time you talk about the struggle for Independence, we are told about Mau Mau. However, so many other people participated in this struggle who are not documented. I think the Kenyan Government must take the initiative to look for these people. Who are they? What did they do? For example, my grandfather was detained by the colonists on Rusinga Island, where my good friend Sen. M. Kajwang’ come from, for five years. I have been struggling to even bring up that matter so that this old man can be recognised. However, no one wants to recognise him despite him being there for five years. I know there are many, many other people who have made a contribution to the Independence of this country who are not documented anywhere."
