    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, this is a Statement by the Senate Majority Leader on the business of the Senate for the week commencing Tuesday, 18th March, 2025, pursuant to Standing Order No.57(1). Pursuant to Standing Order No.57(1), I hereby present the business for the week commencing Tuesday, 18th March, 2025. Before I make the presentation, allow me to give the status of legislative business pending before the Senate. (1) Out of 55 Bills, 43 are at the Second Reading stage while 12 at the Committee of the Whole stage. (2) There are 31 Motions which are pending conclusion. (3) There are 36 Petitions that are pending conclusion, out of which 17 are due for reporting by the respective standing committees. (4) There are 540 Statements, pursuant to Standing Order No.53(1) pending conclusion. The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
