"content": "I rise per pursuant to Standing Order No.53(1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee of Health regarding the acute blood shortage in the country. In the Statement, the Committee should address the following- (1) The current state of blood transfusion services in the country, including details of available blood banks and laboratories' reagents. (2) The reasons behind the persistent blood shortage in the country and the measures currently being taken by the Ministry of Health and the Kenya Blood Transfusion and Transplant Services (KBTTS) to ensure the consistent availability of blood transfusion services and blood reagents in the country."
