    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.53(1), to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Roads, Transportation and Housing regarding tarmacking of the Siakago-Soko-Kamumu-Kanyuambora road in Mbeere North Sub-County, Embu County. This road serves as a crucial economic corridor for the residents of Mbeere North and its completion is vital for the economic growth of the region. The construction of the road, which covers an approximate distance of 35 kilometres commenced in 2021. However, in 2023, the project was re-tendered and to date, only 3kilometres have been constructed. In the Statement, the Committee should address the following- (1) State the estimated cost for the construction of the above-mentioned road and clarify the reasons for the inordinate delay in completion of this road following the re- tendering in 2023.
