    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.53(1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Lands, Environment and Natural Resources regarding the compensation status of the victims of human-wildlife conflicts in Lamu County. In the Statement, the Committee should- (1) Provide a report of all human wildlife conflict claims from 2022 to date, including details of the nature of claims, incident date, claim submission date, amount claimed and payments date. (2) Present an update of all paid and pending claims, reasons for non-payment and expected timeline for settling outstanding claims. (3) Specify the standard duration of claim settlement and outline measures to be taken against the Kenyan Wildlife Service (KWS) if payments exceeds the stipulated period.
