"content": " Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Speaker. I just want to add one or two points to this important issue affecting wheat farmers not just in Narok, but also the rest of the country. I also want to briefly talk about the sugar sector. There is no off-take of home-grown wheat in Kenya because there was massive importation of wheat. There are records. We should have been given the records of all the wheat that was imported through the Port of Mombasa. That is why farmers in Narok are unable to sell their crop. They will not be able to salvage the wheat crop because there are no storage facilities. Due to the high moisture content, aflatoxins will form, and yet somebody somewhere is importing grains and sugar when prices in the international markets are low, flooding them in Kenya, and leaving our farmers with nowhere to sell their crops."
