Temporary Speaker, pursuant to the provisions of Standing Order 44(2)(c), I rise to request for a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Education regarding the implementation status of enhanced salary packages for teachers within Isiolo municipality. Following the 2021 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) signed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), it was agreed that teachers working in municipalities would receive increased house allowances. In 2018, Isiolo Town was officially recognised as a municipality. However, to date teachers serving within its jurisdiction have not received a salary increment as stipulated in the CBA. This delay has adversely impacted their motivation and overall well-being, potentially undermining the quality of education."
