Temporary Speaker, The Departmental Committee on Regional Development held the approval hearing for Mr Micheal Lenasalon, nominee for appointment as Principal Secretary, State Department for Devolution as requested by His Excellency the President and communicated to the House by the Speaker on Wednesday, 26th March 2025. The nominee appeared before the Committee on Friday, 4th April 2025 for the approval hearing. The Committee examined his suitability based on the criteria set out in Section 7 of the Public Appointments (Parliamentary Approval) Act. In addition, the Committee examined his academic credentials, relevant experience, knowledge of sector issues, leadership and integrity."
